| Noah Hunt Profile December 2002 "After all the things I’ve achieved in my life, I can’t see myself doing anything other than creating music." Noah Hunt Noah Hunt is a charming and talented local musician who has achieved what most only dream about. Noah is certainly a happy man, and his happiness is well deserved. At age 4, his music loving parents sat him in front of a piano, and through his lessons, it was then he realized how much he loved music. Later they purchased him a little turntable and when he tired of children’s songs, he raided his parents Beatle collection. After scratching up his parents LPs quite nicely, he was then determined to follow his love of music. As every other teenager with a hankering for a “garage band”, he and his friends decided to start one, unfortunately with someone else’s equipment. Noah and his buds decided to “borrow” his school’s PA and microphones. When they were caught, Noah, grounded for six months, decided take a negative and turn it into a positive; he taught himself how to play guitar. During the late ‘80s, Noah was disappointed in the direction in which rock had went, so he started seeking out other types of music. Blues caught his ears and he followed the blues path through decades of the greats, and along that path, he found his niche. When Roots music began to emerge from the sludge of so-so and just plain bad rock scene, Noah believed once again rock was going in the right direction. Noah wrote music and played with Jason Dennie as an acoustic duo for many years, then it was on to Uncle Six. Uncle Six enjoyed local popularity for several years and released 3 CDs. The Uncle Six CDs are now a precious commodity and people on E Bay are making tidy profits from their sale of Uncle Six CDs to their fans. A photographer, W.A. Williams, heard Noah and recommended him to the producers of the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band for vocals. He was quickly brought into the studio and they recorded the disc “Trouble Is...”. Noah finally had national recognition for his wonderful voice and talent. He will soon be working with the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band again on a new 2003 CD release. Noah Hunt and The 420 All-Stars, Dan Hunt, Alex Hughes, Todd Knapke, Duran Murphy and Snake, are going to bring their unique brand of music to the Madison Theatre on December 21st. Their annual Holiday show benefits the needy of our city, through the Free Store. The show begins at 7PM and it promises to rock! All who brings a non-perishable item with them will receive a reduced rate ticket. Additionally, Kim Taylor and Ian Matthews will be performing, two additional treats for your holiday pleasure. If you are an Uncle Six fan, Noah will have CDs for sale and they’re a heck of a lot cheaper than buying them on E Bay. See me smile? |
