Madison Theater July 6, 2002  Concert Review

This show was great and the music was really impressive. This band gets better each time. Noah had awesome vocals and had the crowd really going. Noah looked thinner from the last time I saw him. What I find most attractive about him is his face and voice! - I could gaze at that face forever, especially that magical smile!!  It's a cool theatre, there's a floor in front of the stage and then tables at the same level as the stage as well as a balcony.

They had a new percussionist (Duran Murphy) and the new guitarist was really impressive (they only introduced him as "Snake") He had the feel of Bishop with the cowboy hat and all but the extra noise of the percussion coupled with the overly-distorted guitar was a bit much for the style of music. The songs were awesome though, and Noah's voice was incredible. We waited through two bands before they started around 11:30 and the show lasted nearly two hours and really brought down the house.

Noah opened the show with his new song "Peace of Mind," (written in the aftermath of the September 11th tragedy) and later performed "Midnight Sun another new song." They sang tons of songs, "Where Was I?" and "Blue On Black" two Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band songs. They did "Go For A Ride," "Alone," "King Bee," and "One Way Out." There were so many other songs! I will include a setlist.

Noah Handed me the guitar pick. Awesome!! I was front row center... festival seating is a great invention! I don't know whether the show was sold out or not. The theatre only holds 1200 and both levels were pretty packed. I wouldn't be surprised if it was!

I met his girlfriend, who was selling his Uncle Six CD's and she was so incredibly nice and sweet and very pretty. She filled me in on what Noah has been up to during the summer. Noah also met with me after the show to take pictures and sign some autographs. He is very nice and approachable.
