THE KWS BAND SHOW

Kenny & company took the stage at 10 p.m. with In 2 Deep. They were on for 1 ½ hours.

Since we went to the meet & greet, all the spots directly in front of the stage were taken when the warm-up band was playing, so we went up front next to the right speaker. Well, my husband wanted to go up there; he said for my benefit, so we temporarily lost our hearing. (LOL) It’s come back now. Well, my husband can’t hear too good anyway to begin with. This was the closest that we’ve ever been for a Kenny Wayne Shepherd show, & I was very excited.

Anyway, it was an awesome show. Shame, Shame, Shame had a Jimmy solo, & Kenny & Noah walked off the stage during this. I took a short video clip of this song until they walked off because I really like this song, but I had the camera sideways, not knowing that that’s the way the clip would be. I thought you could turn it like you could a picture. So I watch it sideways on my computer! (LOL) It’s only like a minute long, but it gives me something to remember the night by. I would have recorded the whole song, but I wasn’t sure how much memory my camera had, & I wanted to take some pictures, too. The audience sang with Blue on Black & then sang it without Kenny & Noah. Noah brought out a blue guitar. I was fascinated with a guitar Kenny brought out during the show. It was white & the strap was white & had musical notes on it. That was pretty cool. At one point during a song, & I don’t know which one, Noah shouted, “The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band is back” which kind of surprised me because I didn’t think they were calling themselves this anymore, but the passes we had said “The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band” on them. Noah sort of stayed mostly in the middle of the stage though he did move around taking the microphone & stand with him. I noticed Noah sang mostly to some women in the center of the stage & even threw a pic once that I noticed. Kenny was all over the place & even stood almost right directly in front of me quite a few times. So close in fact that I was afraid he was going to step on my piece of paper with the set list written on it & my red Sharpie!

Here was the set list:

In 2 Deep
Kings Hwy.
Somehow. Somewhere. Someway.
A Place Your In
Deju Voodoo
I’m Leaving You (Commit a Crime)
Shame, Shame, Shame
Let Go
I Don’t Live Today
True Lies
Alive
Oh Well
Blue on Black
Slow Ride
ENCORE:
Shotgun Blues
King Bee
Voodoo Child
I wasn’t really listening when they introduced the drummer & bass player, but I noticed that the drummer had an Iron Maiden t-shirt on & the bass player looked like he had on an AC/DC t-shirt on. Kenny had on an orange “Country Boy” t-shirt with ripped blue jeans with black sneaks, & Noah had on black boots, jeans with a black muscle shirt on & he looked fine in it! (See pics.) If anyone know the names of the bass player & drummer, I'd really like to know.

Two men (staff or security) sat on the edge of the stage, one to the left & one in the middle. My husband said that one of the women up front tried to touch or grab Kenny on his foot, but one of the security men stopped her. I was worried that the guy sitting in the middle would be in the way of pictures, but he wasn’t. The guy in the middle jumped off the stage once to break up a fight in the audience.
OVERALL

I really had a good time. Kenny sang three songs from his new CD. No, I still don't have his new CD. I'm going to be honest here because I know I can & don't have to worry about being censored. I don't like Kenny's singing; there I said it. I love to listen to Kenny play his guitar. I love their stuff from the three previous CDs which I all have. Noah is the better singer by far & if Kenny were smart, he'd just stick with Noah as the lead singer, forget this rock stuff & stick to the blues. So if you get a chance to see them live, do. If you can afford to join to the fan club & get a meet & greet, do. You won't be sorry.
